Meet Sámi Culture – Around the Fire.
Step into a traditional Sámi lavvu and join us for a warm and informal gathering around the fire. Here, you’ll meet a Sámi person dressed in traditional clothing and take part in a genuine conversation about life, culture, traditions and stories passed down through generations.
This is not a lecture or a formal presentation, but a personal meeting between people – with plenty of room for questions, conversation and stories that may never have found their way into a book. As the fire crackles, you can warm yourself with freshly brewed campfire coffee and a hot drink, and simply enjoy the peaceful atmosphere inside the lavvu.
A cosy and authentic experience where you get the chance to come a little closer to Sámi culture – around the fire, just as people have gathered for generations.
Meet the Reindeer Up Close:
Just outside the lavvu, our friendly reindeer are waiting for you. Step inside the enclosure, feed them, take photos, and enjoy a magical encounter with one of the Arctic’s most iconic animals.
Taste the Sami National Dish:
After visiting the reindeer, you will be invited into the hotel restaurant to enjoy a traditional lunch – the Sami national dish Bidos – served with genuine Northern Norwegian hospitality.
Visit the Huskies:
The adventure continues with a visit to a local husky farm. Meet both huskies and puppies, pet them, and learn more about the life of sled dogs in the Arctic.
