Feed Reindeer – Evening, with Northern Lights Camp
Welcome to an unforgettable evening at Lyngenfjord Hotel in Skibotn!
Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome from our hosts before we take you on a unique and personal encounter with our beautiful reindeer.
Your experience begins in our reindeer enclosure, where you can get up close to these fascinating Arctic animals, feed them by hand, and capture unforgettable moments with amazing photographs. Reindeer have played an important role in the life and culture of Northern Norway for generations, and here you have the opportunity to meet them in peaceful and scenic surroundings.
After meeting the reindeer, you are invited into our traditional Sámi lavvu (tent). Inside, a crackling fire, warm drinks, and a cosy atmosphere await, offering an authentic taste of the Arctic winter.
We also serve the hotel's delicious reindeer soup, inspired by local culinary traditions – a comforting and flavourful dish, perfect for a winter evening beneath the Arctic sky.
And perhaps the sky will put on the greatest show of the evening?
Skibotn is famous for its dry climate, many clear nights, and exceptional opportunities to witness the Northern Lights. Outside the lavvu, we have created a welcoming outdoor area with benches covered in soft reindeer hides and atmospheric lighting, where you can enjoy the peaceful silence, the star-filled sky, and hopefully the magical dance of the Aurora Borealis.
Whenever you feel the cold, you are welcome to step back inside the warm lavvu and relax by the fire.
Practical Information
Meeting time: 8:45 PM at Lyngenfjord Hotel
Reindeer evening feeding: 9:00 PM – every evening
Included: Meet and hand-feed our reindeer, warm drinks, traditional reindeer soup, and access to our Northern Lights Camp
Duration: After the reindeer experience, you are welcome to stay and enjoy our Northern Lights Camp for as long as you wish.
