Welcome to Lyngenfjord Hotel in Skibotn, where you can get up close to our beautiful reindeer and experience authentic Arctic magic, surrounded by spectacular mountains and breathtaking fjord scenery.

We offer two unique reindeer experiences – one during the day and one in the evening. Whether you prefer meeting the reindeer in daylight followed by a delicious lunch, or experiencing them beneath the starry sky with a crackling fire, local food, and the possibility of dancing Northern Lights, we have something truly special to offer.

Upon arrival, you will receive a warm welcome from our hosts. Your experience begins with a visit to our reindeer enclosure, where you can get close to these wonderful animals, feed them by hand, and capture unforgettable photographs.

Reindeer have played an important role in the life and culture of Northern Norway for generations, and this is a unique opportunity to discover more about these fascinating Arctic animals.

Option 1 – Reindeer Breakfast & Arctic Lunch
Every day at 12:00 PM (noon)

Join us for the reindeer's breakfast! Meet our friendly reindeer, feed them by hand, and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere with majestic mountains as your backdrop.

After visiting the reindeer, you are invited into our traditional Sámi lavvu (tent). Here, you can relax in the cosy atmosphere around a crackling fire and warm up with a delicious hot drink.

Afterwards, a tasty lunch awaits in the hotel's restaurant. We serve our delicious traditional reindeer soup, inspired by local culinary traditions – the perfect way to warm up after spending time in the fresh Arctic air.

Option 2 – Reindeer Evening Feeding & Northern Lights Camp
Every evening at 9:00 PM – Meeting time: 8:45 PM

As darkness falls over Skibotn, we invite you to enjoy a truly special Arctic evening experience.

Your evening begins with a close encounter with our beautiful reindeer. Feed them by hand, take memorable photographs, and experience the unique atmosphere of meeting these gentle animals beneath the Arctic night sky.

After feeding the reindeer, we welcome you into our traditional Sámi lavvu. Inside, a crackling fire, warm drinks, and the hotel's delicious reindeer soup await, inspired by local culinary traditions.

And perhaps the sky will put on the greatest show of the evening?

Skibotn is renowned for its dry climate, many clear nights, and exceptional opportunities to witness the Northern Lights.

Outside our lavvu, we have created a cosy Northern Lights Camp with benches covered in soft reindeer hides and atmospheric lighting. Here, you can enjoy the peaceful silence, the star-filled sky, and hopefully watch the spectacular Aurora Borealis dancing above the mountains.

Whenever you feel the cold, you are welcome to step back inside the warm lavvu and relax by the fire.

After the reindeer feeding experience, you are welcome to stay and enjoy our Northern Lights Camp for as long as you wish.

Choose between 12:00 PM and 9:00 PM.

Both experiences include meeting and hand-feeding our reindeer, warm drinks, and traditional reindeer soup.

The daytime experience includes a visit to our traditional lavvu and lunch in the hotel restaurant, while the evening experience includes our cosy lavvu with a crackling fire and access to our Northern Lights Camp.
